By using Permit Prep, you agree to the terms below. They are written in plain language because we'd rather you actually read them.

Study material, not legal advice

The practice questions, explanations, and study guide on Permit Prep are written for educational purposes. They are based on publicly available state driver handbooks and are designed to help you prepare for the written DMV permit exam in your state. They are not legal advice and they are not the official state exam.

State driving rules can change. Before you take a real action that depends on a specific rule — for example, before driving in a new state, before paying a traffic ticket, or before disputing a DMV decision — verify the current rule with your state's DMV or with a licensed attorney in your state.

No guarantee of passing

We work hard to make Permit Prep accurate and useful, and the vast majority of users who study seriously do pass on the first try. However, we cannot and do not guarantee any particular result on the actual DMV exam. Your result depends on the official questions you receive, the version of the handbook your state is currently using, and how thoroughly you prepared.

Acceptable use

You may use Permit Prep for personal, non-commercial study. You may share links to specific pages, screenshot pages for personal study notes, and recommend the site to other learners. You may not scrape the entire question bank, republish substantial portions of our content on other sites, or build commercial products on top of our content without written permission.

Automated traffic that exceeds normal browsing patterns may be rate-limited or blocked. If you're a researcher who wants bulk access to the question bank for academic purposes, write us at partners@permitprep.example and we'll work something out.

Links to other sites

Permit Prep links to state DMV websites and to a small number of other educational resources. We don't control the content of those sites and we're not responsible for what they publish. We choose the links carefully but cannot guarantee they will remain accurate or available.

Limitation of liability

Permit Prep is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including any DMV exam result. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds that some part of this disclaimer is unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
