How the real North Carolina permit test works
To get your North Carolina learner permit you must be at least 15 years old. The written exam is multiple choice and is offered at most DMV field offices. You normally need to score at least 80% correct to pass. If you fail, most states make you wait one to seven days before retesting.
If you missed more than four questions in this practice quiz, focus your next study session on the topic where you missed the most. The Permit Prep state overview page links every drill in one place, and the GDL summary covers the supervised-hours and night-driving rules that show up on most state tests.
